Russian propaganda:
1. starts with doubt about the existence of truth itself (who knows what the truth is) making it seem very hard to establish, throwing doubt on well resourced and researched news sources, capitalising on learned helplessness so you give up
2. gives up a commitment to consistency; when challenged simply pivot onto a new topic (heavily related to volume)
3. prioritises on volume (as above, the sheer weight of contradictory and nihilistic missives, blasting away is overwhelming)
4. starts with not what should motivate you, but what already motivates you (and manipulates that they watch and wait for a way into your world and eat away at that)
> all turbo-charged on social media, they steer the discussion, seed conflict with so many conflicting messages and odd perspectives, and then sabotage any continuity or depth in the discussion.
This gives new meaning to the old term 'bait and switch'.
