Ukraine should retreat and take all refugees that want to be in Ukraine back to the west and let Ruskies take the donestk Luhansk region..

Putins speech is very interesting.. Whilst he is no doubt a despotic leader for life, his reasoning on the break up of the USSR and Russian ongoing relationship with those break up states is valid

they are Russian strategic territory buffer zones

Russia quite reasonably dominated politics, economies, culture of these territories whilst not technically sovereign over them so a kind of 'peaceful' co existence is possible in this regard whilst these regions obviously must recognise Russia as their 'big brother's protector

2014 Coup upset this balance and I think the west just has no ability to understand or sympathise with the degree to which this affects Russia

Western style democracy for Ukraine has to be considered in this context

It is very unfortunate to be facing such conflict in Europe but it is not entirely surprising and once again, another nation, in this case Ukraine, will end up regretting deeply the aspirations of 'westernisation' when the west will inevitably be powerless to stop Russia imposing their will upon them

Once again, the west will be dragged into a power struggle for which it has very little at stake apart from an 'ideal'

Furthermore, any western military activity will basically constitute a declaration of war against Russia.. How ridiculous

Next move could be Nato sending in 'Peacekeepers' to Eastern Ukraine
