Vladimir Putin's comments after the election were "markedly uncertain", an ex-diplomat has said.
Sir Andrew Wood, former UK ambassador to Russia, told Sky News he was "struck" by the the way Mr Putin spoke after securing inevitable victory.
"He talked about the gratitude that he had, that everybody is supporting him, and so on.
"But it's quite obvious that wasn't true and he knew it."
