Just think....effectively by extension you can consider Australia and New Zealand sent their combined around 77,000 troops to the other side of the planet 107 years ago and effectively, for Russia's sake and at their request, fought for and sacrificed the following.
Australia provided around 60,000 troops and lost 7,594 killed with 18,500 wounded and New Zealand about 17,000 troops where 3,431 were killed and 4,140 wounded. Huge numbers for the populations of the time.
So they fought and died for Russia indirectly/effectively !
