One of the pre-requisites for a lasting peace in Ukraine is for the US to sever all strategic/military ties with their current vassal to allow Ukraine to become a sovereign independent and neutral state.
perhaps your most ridiculous comment I've ever seen . Ukraine have ignored US directions a couple of times during this war .....recieving weapons from the US does not make them a vassal .
Cutting off ties with the west WOULD make them a vassal of russia - that might create lasting peace but at the cost of the Ukrainain liberties . Not EVER going to happen .
Signing a pact with putin will never bring peace unless either ; 1. putin has already acheived his objectives and has no firther ambitions in Ukraine (both seem unlikely ) or 2.Whatever part of Ukraine is still independant of russian control has security guaranteed by the west
the latter coukd happen by individual countries within NATO signing specific alliances with Ukraine - France ,UK , Poland etc perhaps ....would likely be enough to discourage putin and put an end to his empirte building (in this direction)
