    strange , i just looked on yahoo - finance, and it seems that they have all of a sudden got rid of a lot of currencies - one of which was the russian rouble. my guess, would be that it is tied to the $us dollar. i seem to recall, a couple of years ago, it was about 30 rouble to the dollar, and i just happened to have a look a few days ago, and it still seemed to be about 30 to the dollar. i ahve not readthe whole thread, maybe somebody has given you the correct answer, as mine is only a guess. for all that it is worth, the ukrainian (ukraine was part of the soviet republic - once upon a time) grivna, also seems to be tied to the $US - not having appreciated over the past two years
