I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to make this thread because I can't find any topics about Russian stocks. As well all know, there is a big situation with Ukraine that has made Russian-based companies that are still available to trade plunge 90%+. This seems to me like a big buying opportunity, as I don't believe the dip in share prices is in line with the depreciation in their value.
The problem is however, and the main reason I made this thread, is that Russian stocks are virtually impossible to buy. Most have suspended trading, and those that haven't yet suspended trading, such as Polymetal on the LSE, are impossible to buy, as brokers (due to clearing house issues or banks refusing to process trades, I don't understand the technical details) won't process buy orders. So I made this thread to talk about Russian stocks in general but I also wanted to ask the people in the forum if there was any means by which would-be speculators could acquire stock in these Russian companies.
Of course, I made this to talk about the financial side of things and not to talk about the politics of the matter.
