Rumour has it that Russia has abandoned Tartus

Maybe they see trouble brewing. They know Syria.

Looks like Syria is now the battlefield for Sunnis and Shias world wide.

Has not been as big a call up of Sunni zealots since they were recruited to Afganistan to fight the Russians under OBJ. Apparently, Shiites are matching them.

Does not sound like a civil war anymore. Stakes are high and Assad does not seem the main game anymore.

I wonder if it will stay under control?
