Its not just farmers - I personally know of people who have made a good living from FIFO mining, that live in Ardrossan who are also opposed to this mine - talk about NIMBY... There is a dolomite quarry that has existed there for the best part of a century, and a lot of farmers got a start in mining via this enterprise....

I personally think that every farmer, miner, small business owner who oppose this mine are no better than the feral, squealing greenies who get paid the dole to sit on their useless backsides and protest these potential minesites. Every last one of them should hand over all the technological advancements that have made their lives easier and go and live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle in a cave, before they ever stand on a picket line with a placard that says - No Mining....These tossers really do make my blood boil....
