    Great post Ash. Thanks as always for your commentary.

    I must admit I was diverting cash from into a new BHP position below $40 (I've still never sold a single S32 share) instead of buying South32. Try to be clever because BHP looked very cheap. Then the Chinese announce stimulus and I reckon if I'd just bought more S32 around $3.00 I'd have done better. That's the last time I try to be clever!!!

    We've got the potential Peake copper deposit too at Hermosa, which may or may not be economical to pursue as part of the Clark manganese project. It will be great if we can tap into the infrastructure already being built there for zinc and manganese.

    If BHP can put 10+ billion into a new, core commodity kind of from left field, in potash, instead of rare earths, I'd be looking at graphite. It's essential for electrification and the Chinese have cornered the market and depressed prices (usual story). There's a couple of tier one projects around the world we could buy relatively cheaply. It has similar, or better, growth prospects as copper, albeit with more risk.
