Unemployment in South Australia has fallen to 5.7 per cent in August, giving the state the second lowest rate in the nation.

Just thought this was worth quoting as the Holden plant will close in the next month, a legacy of the Abbott government's war on Australians having jobs in an Australian car industry. Unemployment will then go up in SA, and some will blame the state Labor government and call SA a basketcase. And SA Labor can and should be blamed for lots of things (like dropping the ball on energy security), but not this time.

These jobs will go because of federal policy - because a federal government in 2013, in federal parliament, taunted car makers to leave the country. And so they did. And so did about 57,000 jobs, mainly in Victoria and South Australia.
