    "No extra money, you're either in or you're out".

    That's not taunting, that's just called telling the truth.

    General Motors thought "Why should we stay?" - and yes, why stay if your blackmail attempt doesn't work and your bluff has been called? No Australian cash going straight back to the balance sheet in Detroit.

    The unions and GM did very well out of car manufacturing, blackmailing the government with the threat of job losses.

    I'd have thought a good leftie would see car manufacturing as a polluting industry that makes devices designed to pollute. No different from the coal industry. Shut it all down and lets go back to horse and cart, windmills and water wheels.
