    The juice:

"Gas has long been seen as a transition fuel to ease Australia's economy through the closure of older coal-fired power stations and the growth in renewable energy, such as large-scale wind and solar, as they become commercially viable.

"But Professor Jotzo, director of the Centre for Climate Economics and Policy, said gas had been overtaken by renewable energy, including battery storage, in the transition away from coal-fired power.

    Ash here.

The economics are undeniable.  This redoubles the urgency to install more renewables - rooftop and industry solar, and wind.  IFN has plenty of projects, many under grid connection negotiation.  State governments will want to advance this and intervene positively on connections, even if the feds are desperately protecting the interests of coal stranded assets.

This is not about doctrine, this is about low cost energy.  IFN is exquisitely placed.
