What is being referred to is probably the spot electricity pricing in the NEM.
The battery was mainly built to provide grid stability services and help mitigate the need for load shedding, though, not compete in the spot market. Although some of it is used by the adjacent windfarm to play in the spot market.
The battery was installed last year to be ready for the peak season where hot weather and air conditioner use leads to increased electricity consumption and seasonal times of higher pricing on the spot market.
Remember though that a lot of the electricity generated is contracted at set prices negotiated between large consumers and generators.

Note the jump in price when the coal fired generator in SA closed down removing a source of hedging contracts within the state.
Currently year to date pricing has declined from the previous year, so far with full implementation of the Pelican point gas fired generator underpinned by electricity purchase contracts from BHP and Origin energy.
