ANC sees ‘foreign’ meddlers influencing strike talks

"What we are doing in the energy sector, that will tell us if we actually are in the mode of radical economic transformation. What is going to happen in transport infrastructure… in ICT… in water and sanitation," he said.
A priority for the current administration was to implement the energy master plan, including hydraulic fracturing and deep-sea oil discovery, which would become a "game changer" in the economy if managed properly.
The government was expected to "do things decisively" and move with speed to change the lives of South Africans. The outcome of the meeting would inform a Cabinet lekgotla this week, ahead of President Jacob Zuma’s state of the nation address.
Mr Mantashe reiterated the party’s determination to push ahead with the National Development Plan.
