Yes, he bumbled through that house price and rent effects of his proposed policy. Personally, I can't see any evidence that Bill Shorten has a well crafted and clever set of policies. Indeed, the opposite.
Removal of unused franking credits hit far too many people who will be seriously disadvantaged by it. People with very modest incomes. A more focussed policy could have been investigated and proposed which would have prevented the many unintended consequences which his proposal, if implemented, would bring about.
Some people were able to retire a couple of years earlier because of those franking credit rebates. I am one of them. Too late now for me to seek work.
