IMO our RBA Governor has a lot to answer for - not least of which is a style I find to be at best arrogant & ignorant. IMO a grotesquely overpaid narcissist who was highly critical of many Howard Govt. policies & who appears committed to high interest rates come hell or high water.
IMO the RBA's actions in putting up rates even when the GFC was already unfolding was a disgrace & almost crippled our economy. The emergency slashing of rates by the RBA that IMO ended prematurely has created price pressures in our economy at just the wrong time. As to pandering to the big banks ...
IMO it's time the role of the RBA was reconsidered - even to providing data of the quality available on the US.
