Then I say sack this useless guy. He must be one of those few talk good, but do little in the Engineering profession.
Put one of the Engineers I known with a Master of applied finance degree in his place.. I am sure he/she will turn the ship around within a year.
A real Engineer is fairly conservative and refers certainty. He/she would have hedged all exposures and limiting the business and operational risks for sure...
