The Senate...created by our founding fathers as "The States House" has been corrupted by the party system...and the elected Senators ( who have relied upon the party system to get there) over time have allowed this to happen...
The Constitution...has all the checks and balances in place but will be ineffective while the politicians and the high court judges condone the misrepresentations put forward by the self interested parties...ie themselves.
Sir John Kerr understood the system...made it work and paid the price...a true political hero..imho...He, through the reserve powers bestowed upon a Govenor General, gave the decision to the people in 1975...and democracy prevailed..
Any wonder why there has been a campaign to destroy the Constitution, the Senate and the position of the Govenor General...We should guard these institutions zealously and educate our young ones to ensure that their future is protected..
So...where is the market going between now and mid year...??
