I think a huge majority of people are just living their lives which involves buying groceries and dealing with a lot more serious worries and concerns.... not everyone watches the news or reads the newspapers and only a very small fraction of population comes to HotCopper forums..
anyways if you want to park large amounts of equities can always just go VAS if WOW is too scary..
