Eagle, this decision was not made in the last 3 months so putting the onus on this government is just politics. Any entity investing in an industry would reasonably ask to look at the books, ask any bank. Why should the people of Australia be any different.
As the closure isn't happening for another four years it will give government and workers time to find alternative solutions. I'd like to to see government give a tax holiday to companies who are willing to start new businesses in the affected areas. The downside is, who is going to buy a Holden with this in the offing?
