Matty Johns is often referred to as Chimp. Just look at him and you can tell why.
Had a white mate in my footy team and we called him "monkey boy"
And had another mate who was huge and came from PNG. His nickname was "Silver". Always introduced himself as "Silver". It didn't take me long to put 2 and 2 together when i first met him. He looked like a big silver back.
I do understand the whole being a man and copping it sweet. But, i also understand that if this is the process that needs to be taken to totally stamp out racist remarks, then so be it.
We have come a long way from the ridiculous abuse indigenous players used to cop. I am the first to ridicule PC crap, but this is just part of the process.
