Well, Saddam is reputedly dead, but like the US says, that is immaterial and the war must go on.
I must emphasise again that I am not a Saddam lover.
Saddam has held together a country of people with contrasting ethnic and religious views.
There are Sunni and Shiite Muslims, Christian Orthodox, Kurds, all with different agenda.
When the war has ended, all these groups will still have their axes to grind, and they will fight it out.
So the Coalition will have to stop the fighting by shooting them. So who is going to decide which groups to kill to end the friction and liberate the rest?
So the civilian death toll will continue long after the war.

In the end, do you think that those killed will care whether they were killed by Coalition peacekeepers or Saddam,s henchmen to stop unrest?
Dont you think a large proportion will believe they were better off under Saddam?
However, none of them are really getting to choose their destiny, are they?

    Cheers
    GZ
