Safeway in america will use biodisal to run its fleet of transport trucks from now. The bio-diesal will be 20% vegetable based mostly from soy oil and 80% petroleum based. They are committed to cutting down carbon emissions even though the bio diesal is more expensive than your standard petroleum. They will cut down their emissions by 75 million pounds the equivalent of taking 7,500 passenger vehicles off the road. Safeway feels that this is the future of fuel for transport and are not concerned about the extra money needed to buy the fuel as long as they are doing the right thing for the enviroment. Safeways only concern was finding enouggh of the fuel to supply their trucks. Safeway has seen the future, hopefully more companies will follow their lead.
