My point was a generalisation since the Protestant movement was about establishing a personal relationship with Jesus/God rather than depending on Saints. Thus, as said, a mere generalisation rather than 100% accurate.
OK. The word 'villifying' may be too strong, despite Mr Gordon's vilification of how the Burmese & Siamese venerate saints.
So, I will not try to back up my statement with a broader sample but Mr Gordon's post is enough for at least one sample.
