The sentiment of Mr Gordon shows why Christianity has often been a great loveless failure, as shown by history.

Most human beings are unable to enter into a relationship with an unseen 'God' because the human being themself has poor spiritual qualities.

This can be seen in Islam, which is very dry. Even the visual appearance of Islamists is very dry.

But Buddhists, for example, often have the appearance of having great radiance, joy & gentleness. Why?

Because the saints are the embodiment of love and the saints share love with the people.

Saints are the same as having loving parents who share love with their children.

Imagine what would happen to children if parents did not give love & warmth to children but, instead, told the children to develop a relationship with the unseen God. Those children would probably end up with serious mental illnesses.

Human beings need to exchange love & warmth with each other & the love of living saints is very important.

This is why churches with loving & inspiring preachers are more popular (than churches with a crusty old priest or the dry Protestant denominations).

This is why Evangelism is growing, with masses like rock concerts, attempting to exchange love between the people.

This is why, in countries such as Siam (Thailand), there is a beautiful exchange of love between the living saints, the monks who are less saintly & the devotees.
