I think sin is overcoming you by your attempt to demonise the saints & correlate them with various means of worship.
What JC said about prayer is about the quality of prayer rather than the quantity of prayer. In other words, a high quantity of quality prayer is better than a low quantity of quality prayer which is better than a high quantity of low quality prayer.
Now you seem to have degenerated into misrepresenting JC himself, who himself prayed with earnestness:
However, for those that have faith that "your Father knows what you need even before you ask him", they do not even have to pray using words. Instead, they practise silent prayer or 'surrender.'
In summary, the proof is in the pudding. To have positive regard for the saints is the expression of virtue.
