The coolest month is July, with an average temperature of -1.6 °C. Daily temperature fluctuations are greater than seasonal; the maximum recorded at Tincalayu Mine during 1995/97 was 26 °C in January and 12 °C in July, while the corresponding minimum temperatures for the same months were-10 °C and -26 °C.
