Looking at the big picture, this is the part of the statement I found to be most interesting:
"Alinta Energy and Norilsk have been in dispute in respect of the operation of the energy supply agreement and this transaction effects a settlement of all matters."
Now that due diligence phase has concluded, and final bids due at the end of the month, potential take-over parties may not have wished to inherit this dispute - so this deal could potentially clear the way for a "whole company take-over"...
Of course this is pure speculation...but you must admit the sale seems to be perfectly timed to coincide with final bids due in just two weeks....time will tell.
If they were simply selling assets piecemeal to pay down debt - why sell this one? Why now?
