The Chinese NEED to establish a long and robust supply of power for the country they are building in order to keep up with the Western World.
They are also extremely astute and WILL do their best to mop it up as cheap as possible.
To get their quota though, it is becoming clear that they will also NEED to up their price.
But, I am not sure they want it all. Due to the fact they put in their offer to KAH, I actually think they may be happy with a huge stake in KAH, possibly the entire company, and then out will come the new bidder cleaning up Extract at a higher rate. They will be forced if they get their 50% to make a downstream offer and hence the new bidder has to increase their bid by at least 5%.
