Summary Apache Corp. is facing a breakup battle after activist hedge fund Jana Partners LLC disclosed a US$1-billion stake in the oil and natural gas company and pushed it to sell its international operations. "We are focused on continuing to execute our strategic plan to rebalance our portfolio and to focus our strategy on more predictable and profitable production growth in our North American onshore assets," Cassidy said in an e-mailed statement.
