Nippon Steel would pay up to 67 per cent less for semi-soft coking coal this fiscal year, two industry executives with knowledge of the deal said. The mill would pay $US80-85 a tonne, down from $US240 a ton a year earlier in a deal stuck for Australian coal with Xstrata, they said."
