Not really with you (common trait with an old geezer like me) but didn't you mean high overheads?
To me it really is the perfect business model, low staffing requirements, expenses that are low and easy to control, contract manufacturing of the product by the experts like CSL (thus no pesky manufacturing plant disasters), and 100% retention of the IP.
Only reservation I have is that at present they only have one big seller however several other applications are already on the market and the Quantiferon platform itself could produce some surprising potential for the detection of other diseases.
QFTG-IT diagnostic test for TB will be the company maker but there also is tremendous underlying potential for other tests.
As usual DYOR, the CST story is a fascinating journey to read up on.
