US$229 PER CARAT ACHIEVED FROM LATEST DIAMOND SALE Kimberley Diamond Company NL (Kimberley) (ASX: KIM) is very pleased to announce the results of its most recent diamond sale held in Antwerp last week. 9,528 carats of run of mine production from Ellendale Pipe 9 were offered by closed tender. All goods on offer exceeded their reserve prices and were sold with an average price of US$229 per carat. Prices achieved across the range of goods sold were considerably in excess of Kimberley’s valuations and expectations and clearly reflect the world trend of recent price increases and anticipated future market shortages of rough stones. This is particularly exciting in view of Kimberley’s planned production expansions. Market conditions are normally somewhat bullish after the Christmas period but results from this sale were well beyond the normal trend. The tender was again held in the premises of Lazare Kaplan Belgium – co-managed by Hermiene Tyler of Orange West Coast Diamonds and Kimberley’s Nick Yiannopoulos, and again attracted some of the diamond world’s leading diamantaires.
