Rapid STAT® for France

On 01.07.08 the Minister of the Interior, Michèle Alliot-Marie (MAM) announced officially that the French government has decided for the application of the saliva drug test Rapid STAT® to be used for their road safety controls. The tendering phase lasted 2 ½ years. The tender started in Feb. 06. After examination of all applicants’ products 3 companies were selected for the final round in 2007. Several thousand tests have been made under real conditions in the period of 04/07 until 03/08 with the tests these 3 companies. Decision criteria were the handling, sensitivity, specificity with a weighting of 60 % and the price with a weighting of 40%. Citation of MAM in “Le Figaro” (01.07.2008) “…Le plus fiable a été retenu…” (…The most reliable has been selected…). Start of the control measurements with 52.000 pieces was 11.08.2008 in the South of France.

MAVAND will deliver their Rapid STAT® to the whole National Police, Gendarmerie and Military of France for the next 3 years.
