in 2012 Samarium Cobalt Magnets were 2 to 3 times more expensive than a NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) permanent magnets to which dysprosium is an additive

remember back in 2012 Dysprosium was around US $1,000 kg and Neodymium was around US $100 kg

today Dysprosium is around US$200 kg and Neodymium is around US $37 kg - so perhaps the Samarium Cobalt Magnets are now around 5 to 6 times more expensive than NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) permanent magnets

and some clown is trolling on these pages telling everyone that will listen that Samarium Cobalt Magnets will be a replacement for  NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) permanent magnets

not if they are around 5 to 6 times more expensive NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) permanent magnets
