Reservoir: The presence of the widespread Birsa Sandstone, Ain Grab Carbonate and Abiod Carbonate is very likely; the uncertainty is on the productivity of each reservoir. The best reservoir properties are expected for the Birsa sandstone which is well developed in Dougga-1 and is reported to have flown more than 25,000 bopd from a horizontal well in the Ouna oil field. As at Tazerka, there is the upside possibility for a multi-payzone discovery. (ADX has estimated the reserves for a single sandstone reservoir layer only). The carbonates may require fracture permeability to provide high productivity reservoir in case of oil, especially in the chalky Maastrichtian Abiod Formation, less so in the Mio Eocene carbonates.

If conditions are right, (e.g. Maamora East) the Abiod is developed as an excellent reservoir facies for oil, which can produce around 5,000 bopd from a single vertical well.
