This is stupidity writ large.
Australia is not the country for production lines. We have a small domestic market. We have some of the highest wages in the world. We have some of the shortest working hours in the world for those highest wages, A leave,LS leave, 10 PHs, RDOs, DV leave, Compassionate leave, Parental leave, etc.
We have some of the highest electricity costs in the world, highest building costs, most restrictive enviro laws, red tape, green tape, law fare. "Social License" extortion payments.
If you get over these and invest capital it's held to ransom by the union movement. There's a reason Ford, GM, Mitsubishi and Toyota left Australia.
Any industry investing in Australia needs REAL competitive advantage. Our aluminium industry had this. Our coal, iron ore and gas industries have this.
The government should stop trying to shut down our real industries.
