Most of solders have not the views as those of the generals but some would think the generals would think like them.

Don't be upset. Some of the solders who could get out of the valley, will be the generals in future. The keys are not how clever you look but how hard you want to get the mind as a general.

To be a general is not easy. It takes the time, patience, hardwork, self-awareness, and changes. Do you want to change? Yes? Then get the fact, get the probability, get the judgment, and then make decision.
