there is no difference at all between a female vote,an indigenous vote or any other vote,but there is a huge difference between a marriage between a man and a woman and a coupling of a man and man or a woman and a woman.They already have equality at law,so why not just get their own name for it .It is like tennis players wanting the right to play on a bowling green if they change the name of their game to bowls.Why are they so ashamed to have their own name for whatever it is they do.They even had to steal the word gay.They defy all religous conventions,yet want to use a name steppe in religous tradition.Marriage is 1 of the 7 Sacraments of the church
