I have to say Snider that I struggle to follow you equating a natural law such as physics with a belief system. Physics is a proven fact, belief in God is a belief. Personally if I wanted laws based around a work of fiction I would choose the Harry Potter series.
There is a historical use of the word marriage which equated to a man and a woman. That has changed as rational people accept that homosexuality exists and is not "wrong" and I see no reason why homosexuals should not have the same rights as heterosexuals. As for a slide into depravity of the human race etc what a load of hysteria.
I always find it fascinating how religion feels the need to get involved in other peoples personal business, especially after they have covered up some extreme abuses of trust of children, just to name one. In the end - wasn't man created in God's image?
