those who have looked closely at GVM will know that one of the Sth African companies it bought into is Samroc, with its interest being around 30%

Interestingly in the recent quarterly, GVM stated that Samroc was currently trading under a cautionary due to 'opportunities it was pursuing'.

On 29 July, Samroc made following ann to Johanneburg stock exchange:

(SAM) Samroc - Renewal of cautionary announcement

    SA MINERAL RESOURCES CORPORATION LIMITED
(Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa)

    Share code: SAM
    RENEWAL OF CAUTIONARY

Further to the cautionary announcement released on SENS on 15 June 2005, Samroc shareholders are advised that discussions are still taking place, which, if successfully concluded, may have an effect on the price of the company's shares.
Accordingly, Samroc shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in their Samroc shares until a further announcement is made.
    29 July 2005

Will be interesting to see what is going on. I expect it might be GVM about to buy out the rest of the business, but will have to wait and see.
