It sounds like you have experience in NZ.
MOD had Sams Creek and spent good money on it but then changed its focus to Botswana. The SFR takeover of MOD resulted in Sams Creek being then owned by SFR.
There are 2 ways of looking at how the sale/purchase agreement happened:
1. SFR approached AUR about it becoming a cornerstone investor in AUR and offered Sams Creeks as a bargaining chip, or
2. AUR approached SFR keen to own Sams Creek.
I would back number 1 with good money.
Back to MOD, Miles Kennedy was on the Board when Sams Creek was acquired. Miles was heavily involved in the establishment of the Macraes gold deposit near Dunedin. He resigned from MOD though I think because of the change of focus. I am therefore thinking that Miles might still like Sams Creek, but he is not connected anymore with either SFR or AUR. For some years though he was a heavyweight with both companies. Maybe he is somehow associated with it too, although not as much as lazarus I suspect.
Thanks for your valuable input!
