That is that JD, being the venture capitalist he is, looked long and hard at the 4DS opportunity. He saw a lengthy process ahead, one which, if funded under the American VC system, would lead to massive dilution for early investors. Hence his investigation of and support for an Australian backdoor listing.
To date the money needed to fund 4DS has been trivial, especially when compared with the R&D budgets of the giants. We are the potential leech-like beneficiaries of this strategy. Let's recognise that we are on a good risk/reward wicket.
But it may not be for everyone.
