Pouch type cell is exactly that, layeres of cathodes and anodes folded into a neat little pouch.
The other type is your typical cannister cell 'AA' 'AAA' etc
But the existing typical variant for Tesla existing batteries were banks of 31650's (bigger AA types)
Now Tesla has created a new battery called the 2170 apparently more energy dense -And that's only in a few short years.
Will be interesting to see who comes up with the more effective/cheaper battery
