Wow, there is the best single advertisement for not only lithium but copper as well.

A 50KW DC charging is going to be using some serious heavy duty copper cabling, very thick copper, as well as large switches. 50KW in a DC charge can arc a fair way.

There is pretty good sized cable for my 5KW solar array, so 50KW is getting serious.

The other aspect of course is the 100Kwh+ battery, to get the 500km range, the same as the Mercedes new Generation EQ SUV EV, with a 500km range and a 100Kwh+ battery.

100Kwh batteries are talking serious amounts of lithium in each vehicle. One aspect from the IMARC conference was how we are now at 5kg/Kwh so a 100Kwh battery will only weigh 500kg. Power to weight ratios are improving rapidly with EVs.

100Kwh of usable battery, requires a 120-125Kwh actual battery, as you never fully charge nor discharge a lithium battery. Fancy software will stop you using the last 15-20%, and only 'fill' to 95%. This is how you get thousands of cycles out of lithium ion batteries. Otherwise the batteries would not last much longer than lead acid batteries.

So in the actual vehicle you have say 120Kwh battery only weighing 600kg, and at the lower end of the lithium range, say .6kg/Kwh, using 72kg of LCE.

Mercedes and Jaguar are top of the range, in quality and price, but I suspect the 500Km range will become the standard range that people will readily accept.

Now please raise your hands those that are going to buy a "Great Wall" EV SUV, for a much cheaper price. Someone, someone, anyone??

Quality EVs will sell like hotcakes in the years ahead, made from quality ingredients. Currently the raw lithium ingredients for those quality EVs will cost about $US1500-$US1600, about 1%-2% of the cost of the vehicle, assuming $22,500 LCE current pricing.
You can get poor quality lithium or the best quality spodumene, that PLS will be selling. Which choice will Mercedes and Jaguar go for??
IMO this makes our resource a total no-brainer, as there will be huge demand for QUALITY spodumene.
