I'd love to pin down a figure also but some basic stats are:

Per Chesapeake: an average EFS frac uses 4.8 million gallons (I assume US) of water, which is about 117,000 bbls (42gallons to the bbl).

A good IP from a well would be about 1,000bbls/day (depending also on the choke used).

I'm not saying that it will take 117 days to clean up (not all of the water is recovered during the initial 'clean up' flowing) but it does put it into perspective.

The amount of water will depend upon the number of stages as well as other aspects of the frac design. Texon states that its proposed 5,000ft EFS6 well will be fracced in 18 stages. Previous wells have had 15 & 17 stages. There seems to be a trend towards increased number of stages.

As to choke size: Texon has said that it has used 18/64 whilst the more recent MRO wells are rumoured to have been flowed on 12/64. If the flow will vary with the area of the valve throat, the comparison is with the squares of the choke size: 18 x 18 / (12 x 12) = 225%. That's not even a marginal difference. Even if MRO use 14/64, that would be 165%.

The answer is that I don't know and the chances are that they will be closely monitoring the well and collecting whatever data they can for future refinement of the design.
