So true, if the Prime Minister visited it was an occasion to be remembered, just look what Gillard has done to this once respected and revered position...

They used to mob the Prime Minister, squealing like, well, school girls, when Paul Keating, John Howard or Kevin Rudd would visit a play ground.
Most of the decibles could be put down to the fact a Prime Ministerial visit was often their first real brush with "celebrity".

But what ever was going on in the political landscape kids could be relied upon to put their parents' voting intentions aside and be at least a little impressed the country's leader had paid them a visit.
    Where has the respect gone?
This morning in Logan (not to be confused with Bogan), Julia Gillard attended the local Marsden High for morning tea and was greeted with chants of "loser" and a snack attack, in the form of a flying sandwich.
. The Albert and Logan News's Heidi Braithwaite reported:

"As well as yelling abuse, students rushed Ms Gillard and a sandwich was thrown at her as she made her way through the school grounds.
The PM's security struggled to keep up with the PM as students "went crazy" according to one bystander.
"The Prime Minister was at the school to attend a Biggest Morning Tea and meet community leaders from Logan.
"An onlooker said some teachers tried to calm students while others looked disgusted at students who were yelling abuse. "It was complete chaos," she said.
"Marsden High P & C president Michelle Campbell witnessed the incident, and said it was “disappointing”. “Kids will be kids though,” she said."
Seriously? Throwing a sandwich at the PM and calling her a "loser" is what the kids are up to these days?

Can't imagine where they learned to be so disrespectful.
