santa claus is coming to town

Okay maybe Santa Claus isn't coming to town but peak oil and global warming are coming to town.

Over the past several years more natural calamities have occurred that I can recall in the past. The floods in Australia and New Orleans, the melting of the ice caps, freak cold weather patterns in Europe and the United States, the Pakistan floods.

And then there's the admission by the international energy agency that oil production isn't going to be as high as previously predicted and that peak oil is here.

So what happens if these two facts are real. In the case of global warming it means we have to cut greenhouse submissions by runing on clean fuels such as natural gas.

In the case of peak oil it means we're simply not going to have the petroleum products we did in the past to run our automobiles and airplanes and that we're going to have to scurry really hard to get energy from other sources to power our hybrid/electric vehicles. and one of those best sources is once again natural gas.

So even though people are talking about a natural gas glut at the moment if either of these two conditions is actually true it will be very favorable to natural gas and if both of them are actually true it'll fortunately be favorable to natural gas but unfortunately the patient may not live long enough for the operation of switching to natural gas to be a success. This can be thought of as a doomsday scenario and if it occurs we may just as well kiss our gas goodbye.
