IMO Ravensthorpe continues to haunt BHP, as demosntrated in the news again today - just too hard for Kloppers it seems. On that glum note I thought some bright jingly bells were in order.

My data for the XAO dates until 1982. It was used to create the summary data below - PDYOR though!

The summary data below shows how many times a rally started in December and continued until at least the end of the month [ie. following prior price retreats such a slump which began in November and continued into December]. It shows only the dates when a rally started.

    Rally Start Dates [cumulative]
    December
    4 - 1 [1]
    7 - 1 [2]
    9 - 2 [4]
    11 - 1 [5]
    12 - 2 [7]
    13 - 1 [8]
    14 - 2 [10]
    15 - 1 [11]
    16 - 1 [12]
    17 - 1 [13]
    18 - 3 [16]
    19 - 2 [18]
    21 - 1 [19]
    22 - 2 [21]
    23 - 2 [23]
    24 - 1 [24]
    All December Rally [1986, 1999 & 2006] - 3 [27]

Using this methodology IMO shows that since 1982 there has been a rally which started before Xmas and continued to at least the end of the year every year! I leave explanations for this to conjecture!

If people are interested I will publish the count for what happens in January!

Best of good fortune to all!
